About Dr. Ruddy

Content, process, and premise are three types of transformation that tend to happen when a human being learns.

We learn facts (content); we learn how to do things (process); we learn how to define ourselves, the world, and our place in the world (premise).

I have studied transformative learning theory, using the theory and its correlates to guide my work in higher and medical education.  My background in philosophy and religious studies grounds my educational-psychological perspective in critical and cultural thinking as well as providing a touchstone to that which is meaningful in human life.

My career has spanned business ownership, undergraduate teaching, research and professional education.  I am a Board Certified Coach through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) and an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF).

The path of growth is frustratingly, beautifully non-linear. It is messy, confusing, amazing, and a little bit easier with someone on your side.
